The best time to visit

The ideal time to visit Corsica for hiking is during the spring (March-May, when the wildflowers are in full bloom) or autumn (September-October, when the golds and reds on the mountain trees are at their best).

The temperatures are mild and the crowds are smaller.

Famous walking routes

Corsica boasts numerous world-class walking routes, such as the long-distance GR20, catering to all levels of experience. Here are a few of our favourite walks:

Rocher des Gozzi (Walk 2): This challenging ascent leads to a breathtaking summit overlooking the Gulf of Ajaccio. The reward is panoramic views of the turquoise waters and dramatic cliffs.
Calenzana to Bonifatu (Walk 21): This classic route traverses the heart of the Asco Valley, offering stunning scenery and a chance to experience traditional Corsican villages.
Sentier du Littoral (Walk 33): This liner route along the coast north of St-Florent (where you can always get a good meal) is known for its clear water, soooo inviting for a swim. Our walk turns back at the ruined Genoese tower shown above.
Trou de la Bombe (Walk 36): This unique hike takes you through a natural arch carved into the rock face, offering a glimpse into the island’s geological wonders.
